Setting up New Account Information (AI) Codes
Overview
Account Information, or AI codes, allow you to categorize your constituent records in ways that are meaningful to your organization. These codes allow you to filter records for general reference, reporting, and extracting data.
AI Setup takes place under Name/Address --> Setup --> AI Codes Maintenance. In order to access this screen, you must have the appropriate security. If you are unable to access this screen but believe you should be able to, please contact your organization's primary DDI contact, or call DDI Client Support.
The DDI-Connect system allows you to group AI codes based on whatever characteristics you prefer. There are two types of AI code groups - radio button and checkbox. A radio button group only allows users to select ONE AI code from the group. Checkbox groups allow multiple selections from within the group. For example, if you have an AI code group called "Type of record", you might have AI codes for Individual, Church and Organization. You would only want one of those codes assigned to a particular record. You might also have another group called Events Participated, with multiple fundraising events listed below. Since a constituent could conceivably attend more than one event, you would want users to be able to select multiple codes from within that group.
To set up an AI code group:
Select this path from the DDI-Connect main menu
Name/Address System --> Setup --> AI Codes Maintenance
This displays the AI Code Setup window. You will see the list of current AI codes and code groups
Select the area in the list that you wish to add the new group
NOTE: DDI-Connect inserts the new group immediately below the selected line
Click the "New Group" icon on the toolbar. This will launch the Group Properties screen
