Overview of NA83SET

Past Due Notice Type Setup allows you to establish categories of past-due notices that can be generated automatically to suit different business needs. Each category can consist of a single past-due notice or multiple notices for varying lengths of time past due. Past Due Notice Type Setup also enables you to designate the types of recipients and prioritize the order in which the notices for these recipients will be generated.


  • From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click Name/Address System
  • Double-click Setup
  • Double-click Past Due Notice Setup. You will see a screen similar to this one:

Adding a New Notice

To add a new notice, click the New button on the toolbar. The fields will activate for editing:

In order to activate additional fields, you must first select the Category. You can type the category code or click the list icon to select from a list of active categories in the system.


There are two tabs on this screen: Notices and Recipients. You can modify the information on the tabs once you have selected the Category.


Notices Tab

Once the Category has been selected, the Notices functions will become active:

To add a new notice, click the New icon:

The following fields are available on this screen:


Field Description
Notice number Sequential number of the past-due notice under the category identified above. This number is assigned automatically by DDI-Connect and cannot be modified. The notice number and description are set up in the code set Past Due Notification Description
Print notification (days) The number of days past due or since the previous notice when the past-due notice applies. The wording accompanying this field is maintained along with the notice number and description in the code set Past Due Notification Description
Notification title Brief, alphanumeric description of the notice
Terminate/deactivate account upon this notification? Selecting this option results in the termination/deactivation of the policy or plan upon attainment of the conditions necessary to receive this notice. This option is accessible only on the final notice in the sequence
AI codes to include If you wish to report only against one or more AI codes, you can do so here. Type the code or codes, separated by commas, or click the list icon to select from a list of active AI codes in the system
AI codes to exclude If you wish to exclude one or more AI codes, you can do so here. Type the code or codes, separated by commas, or click the list icon to select from a list of active AI codes in the system


When you have finished entering the information, click OK to save the record. Your screen will now appear as such:

Repeat these steps until you have added all notifications for this category.


Recipients Tab

When you click the Recipients tab for a notice, you will see this screen:

Click the New button to add a new recipient group:

The following fields are available:


Field Description
Processing sequence Number indicating which of the recipients of past-due notices should have the notices generated first
Group Alphanumeric code and description of a grouping of notice recipients. Type the group code or click the list icon to select from a list of active past due groups in the system
Classification Code populated automatically according to the remitter’s group
Mail merge form Type the merge form code or click the list icon to select from a list of active merge forms in the system


When you have added the information, click OK to save the record.

Repeat the steps for any additional notices that should be configured for this notice.


Editing an Existing Notice

To edit an existing notice, you can double-click the record or click it once to highlight and then click the Edit button. This enables you to edit either the notices or recipients information attached to the record:

When you have finished making your changes, click Save to retain them.


Viewing Edit History

To view the Edit History for a notice record, click it once to highlight and then click the Edit History button on the toolbar. This will launch the Edit History screen.


When you have finished viewing the edit history, click Exit to return to the Notice screen.
