Overview of IV300

Once orders are entered into the Order Entry system, pick tickets must be generated for the items in the orders to be picked for shipping. Generating pick tickets consists of the fol¬lowing basic steps:

  • Search for orders using several search criteria: Required date is a primary search criterion since orders are typically picked and processed by required dates. Pick area is also a primary selection, since pick tickets are limited to one pick area per pick ticket for picking convenience. The user can also select orders by the source of the order (such as mail, phone, fax). There are also several different pick types from which to choose: customer sales, consignment sales, discards of items no longer wanted, and transfers of items within the warehouse system. Each pick type has a separate pick ticket.
  • Select the quantity of each item to pick in each selected order: The DDI inventory system displays the requested quantity, the quantity available to pick from stores, and any quantity frozen for cycle counting. The user then enters the quantity to pick. Full picking, partial picking, and back orders are handled by the system.
  • Generate and print the pick tickets using selectable printing criteria: The user can select whether to use abbreviated or full location descriptions, whether to print item details, and whether to print an order summary. Pick ticket page length and line spacing are also selectable.

  • From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click Inventory
  • Double-click Picking
  • Double-click Generate Pick Tickets. You will see this screen:
