Overview of CW03SET

Check Forms Maintenance maintains parameters, controls, and file names used for printing checks.


  • From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click CheckWriter
  • Double-click Setup
  • Double-click Check Forms Maintenance. You will see a screen similar to this one:

Adding a New Check Form

To add a new check form, click the New button on the toolbar. The fields will activate for data entry:

The following fields are available on this screen:


Field Description
Form code A unique alphanumeric code (1 to 4 characters) identifying this check form
Description Description of this check form
Check form filename Filename of the check form on DDI’s Linux server. The file must reside in the location specified in CheckWriter Setup
Printer type Click the drop down arrow to select the printer type to use with this check form
Alternate filename 1 Filename of an alternative form to use when the check source code matches one of the codes listed
Source codes A comma-delimited list of check source codes that require the use of the first alternate check form
Alternate filename 2 Filename of an alternative form to use when the check source code matches one of the codes listed
Source codes A comma-delimited list of check source codes that require the use of the second alternate check form
Signature filename 1 Filename of a signature graphic (.hps format) on DDI’s Linux server. The file must reside in the location specified in CheckWriter Setup
Minimum amount The first signature will be printed only if the check amount is equal to or greater than this amount. Specify a value of 0.00 to always print the first signature
Signature filename 2 Filename of a signature graphic (.hps format) on DDI’s Linux server. The file must reside in the location specified in CheckWriter Setup
Minimum amount The second signature will be printed only if the check amount is equal to or greater than this amount. Specify a value of “0.00” to always print the second signature
Logo filename 1 Filename of logo graphics (.hps format) on DDI’s Linux server. The files must reside in the location specified in CheckWriter Setup
Safety amount Select one of the provided formats to use when printing the written amount on the check
Logo filename 2 Filename of logo graphics (.hps format) on DDI’s Linux server. The files must reside in the location specified in CheckWriter Setup
Max # of lines on second stub The maximum number of lines that can be printed on the check stub (referred to here as the second stub, the first stub being the check itself.) If the second stub is filled, additional checks will be created as necessary
Third stub filename Filename of the form to use in printing “third” check stubs on plain paper. This form is used when the number of lines for the third stub exceeds the maximum that can be printed on the bottom third of the check form
Max # of lines on third stub The maximum number of lines that can be printed on the third check stub (usually printed on the bottom third of the page and retained for internal use). If the third stub is filled, additional lines are printed on plain paper using the third stub form


When all of the information has been added, click Save to retain your changes.


Viewing Check History

To view the edit history for a check form, click it once to highlight and then click the History button on the toolbar. This will launch the Edit History Viewer
