Web Settings
Overview of DDI40SET
The Web Settings screen allows you to configure settings for your DDI hosted (i.e., Online CEF) website. These settings include user ID and password requirements, as well as the text for emails related to the website.
- From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click Supervisor Menu
- Double-click System Administration. You will see this screen:
Double-click the Web Settings icon. You will see this screen:
There are three tabs on this screen.
User IDs tab
To modify settings on the User IDs tab, click the Edit button. The fields become enabled for modification:
The following fields are available on this screen:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Maximum number of characters | Establishes the maximum number of characters that your clients can use when creating their User ID |
Minimum number of characters | Establishes the minimum number of characters that your clients must use when creating their User ID |
Allowed characters | If you wish to restrict the type of characters, you can establish allowed characters, you can establish those here (such as alpha, numeric, symbol). If you do not wish to have restrictions, leave this field blank (recommended) |
Passwords tab
When you click the Passwords tab, you will see this screen:
The following fields are available:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Allowed characters | If you wish to restrict the type of characters, you can establish allowed characters, you can establish those here (such as alpha, numeric, symbol). If you do not wish to have restrictions, leave this field blank (recommended) |
Minimum number of characters | This field establishes the minimum number of characters required for users' passwords |
Password valid for () days | Establishes the number of days that a password is valid before requiring a reset by the user |
Maximum number of characters | This field establishes the maximum number of characters required for users' passwords |
Grace logins after password expires | Establishes how many grace logins a user is allowed after their password has expired, before the system locks them out and requires that their password be reset |
Minimum # of alpha characters | The minimum number of alpha (a,b,c, etc.) characters required in a user's password |
Maximum failed login attempts | The maximum number of times that a user is allowed to enter an incorrect password before their account is locked |
Minimum # of non-alpha characters | The minimum number of non-alpha (numeric, special character, symbol) characters that are required in a user's password |
Number of saved passwords that cannot be reused | The number of previous passwords that cannot be re-used by users when selecting a new password |
Minimum # of uppercase characters | The minimum number of uppercase (A, B, C, etc.) characters required in a user's password |
Maximum number of times a user can change their password in a 24 hour period | This establishes the maximum number of times that a user can reset their password in a day (24 hour timeframe) |
Minimum # of lowercase characters | The minimum number of lowercase (a, b, c, etc.) characters required in a user's password |
Minimum # of numeric characters | Minimum number of numeric (1, 2, 3, etc.) characters required in a user's password. If you have set the minimum number of non-alpha characters, you can leave this field at 0 unless you wish to require that your users use at least 1 numeric character in their password |
Minimum # of symbol characters | Minimum number of symbol (!, @, &, etc.) characters required in a user's password. If you have set the minimum number of non-alpha characters, you can leave this field at 0 unless you wish to require that your users use at least 1 symbol character in their password |
Email tab
When you click the Email tab, you will see this screen:
In order to modify an email type, click the drop down arrow to the right of the Email type field and select the email that you wish to modify:
Once you have selected the email you wish to modify, the following fields are available:
Field | Description |

Email "From" | Enter the email address that the email should be sent from |
Subject | Enter the subject line of the email |
Text | Enter the text for the email |
Password reset URL remains valid for | This establishes in hours how long the URL for password resets remains valid. If a client tries to access the link after the URL has expired, they will not be able to reset their password |
Email verification URL remains valid for | This establishes in hours how long the URL for account registration email validation remains valid. If a client tries to access the link after the URL has expired, they will not be able to validate their email in order to complete their account registration |
When you have finished making your modifications, click Save to retain your changes.
