Void Checks and Reprint with New Numbers
Contents
We printed out a large batch of checks, but discovered that the last several did not print on check stock - they printed on paper. Is it possible to reprint them?
Yes you can.
Checks Can Be Reused
If you have not exited out of the Check Printing Wizard and the checks can be reused, you can do the following.
The Check Printing Wizard should be on this screen:
Select the option "Only SOME of the checks printed correctly":
Click Continue. You will now see this screen:
Enter the range of checks that you wish to void, and then select "Nothing printed, checks can be reused":
Click Continue. You will see this screen:
Select Create a new set of checks ready to be printed, and click Continue. The system will first void the checks:
When that is complete, click Continue. The Check Printing Wizard will now appear to be finished:
Click Finish. You are now returned to the CheckWriter View/Print Checks screen. The checks that you indicated needed to be reprinted will be listed here:
You can now restart the check printing process by clicking the Print button. The Check Printing Wizard will launch again. Note that the Starting Check Number is NOT the one you want for reprinting these checks:
In the Starting check number field, enter the first check number that you are reprinting, and click Continue. You will see this message:
Click Yes. You will now be able to proceed through the rest of the steps to reprint the checks.
Checks Cannot Be Reused
What if the checks did not print properly, and the check numbers cannot be reused?
If you are still on the Check Printing Wizard, select "Only SOME of the checks printed correctly". Then, from this screen:
Select either printing error, checks cannot be reused or Other, checks cannot be reused. Then, proceed through the rest of the wizard. You'll be returned to the CheckWriter View/Print Checks, and you can launch the Print process to re-print the checks.
