Trial Balance Report
Overview of FW30
The trial balance displays the balance of every ledger account or of each specified ledger account within a given date range. It can also display the posted transactions contributing to ledger-account balances during the date range. This is the detailed report mode. The report displays the total debits and credits posted during the appointed period for the ledger account(s) selected. If closing amounts are included in the trial balance, the report will not balance to zero unless a “Net Income” line (added in Chart of Accounts Entry) is included. If closing amounts are not included in the trial balance, the report will balance to zero unless a “Net Income” line is included. To run the report:
- NOTE**: The summary trial balance will not agree with the detailed trial balance for closing accounts. This is because the summary trial balance includes closing activity, whereas the detailed trial balance shows only actual activity posted to those accounts. For some of these accounts the closing activity balances to zero (debits = credits) and doesn't result in a difference, but there are cases where the closing activity is off by a small amount.
