Switching an Account from Secondary to Primary

I need to change an account from being secondary to being the primary account. How do I do that?

To move a secondary account to be primary:


  • Go to Account Entry
  • Look up the current primary account. Your screen will look something like this:

  • First, you will toggle the secondary account to be the reporting tax ID. Click the account once to highlight, then click the Constit button and select Set Tax ID:

Next, click the secondary account and hold down your left mouse button. Drag the line up to the top of the account list and release the mouse button. The accounts should now look like this:

The accounts have now been switched, and the secondary account is now the primary.
