I am running an investment report and noticed a message "End date of registration "XXXX" is expired". What does that mean and how do I fix it?

This message indicates that the state registration for the investment type has expired. Many organizations set up their state registrations to expire at the end of each year. This allows them to monitor their annual SEC sales.

To correct the issue, make note of the investment state and type that is displayed in the message. Then, do the following:

  • Log in to DDI Connect and double-click Financial Services
  • Double-click Investments
  • Double-click Setup
  • Double-click State Sales Maintenance. You will see this screen:

  • Locate the state and category that was referenced in the message. When you find it, click to display the information:

Make note of the end date. It is most likely expired, which is what is resulting in the message.

To correct the issue, you will want to set up state registration for the current year. For information on how to do this, please see this page: Registering State Sales
