Recurring Journals Process Automatically

We have set up multiple recurring journals that need to be modified monthly. However, the journals are processing before we get a chance to modify them. How can we schedule them to not process before we modify

The first thing to check is whether or not you have set up the job in job processing to process recurring journals. To verify this:

  • From the DDI Connect main menu, click Admin and select Job Queue. This launches the Job Maintenance screen for your organization
  • Look for the job fw20m.r - Post Transactions to G/L. When you have located it, click it once to highlight, and then click the Setup button on the toolbar. This will launch the parameters screen for the job:

If "Process recurring journals" is set to Yes, then your recurring journals automatically process as part of your job processing. If you do not wish for this to happen, change that field to "no".

NOTE: If you change this setting to No, you will have to manually process recurring journals

To alleviate the issue going forward, DDI recommends that you set up your recurring journals using a template or by copying previous journal entries. Reference the General Journal Entry screen for information on how to perform this setup. You will want to delete your existing recurring journals, and then set them up using either templates or previous journal entries.

Once you have properly set up your recurring journals, you will want to make it part of your daily routine to modify the recurring journals prior to job processing.
