Overview of IL705

Once you’ve established a new portfolio record to track an investment, you must assign funds to it by purchasing the portfolio. It is the purchase that actually issues funds to the party identified under the account.


Note: If a portfolio purchase is entered in error, you can always reverse this process through purchase reversal.


  • From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click Financial Services
  • Double-click Portfolio
  • Double-click Transactions
  • Double-click Portfolio Purchase. You will see this screen:

Type the portfolio number that you are purchasing and click Find, or click the list icon to select from a list of active portfolios in the system. You can also click the binoculars icon to search for the portfolio. Once you have selected the portfolio, the screen will look like this:

The following fields are available on this screen:


Field Description
Purchase date Enter the date you wish to use. You can type it in mm/dd/yyyy format or click the calendar icon to select the date
Number units Number of units in the selected portfolio. A bond, for example, would likely consist of only one unit, whereas a mutual fund might have several according to the number of shares owned
Face amount Face dollar amount of the selected portfolio
Interest purchased For bonds and treasury instruments, the interest purchased reflects the amount of interest earned through the date of purchase
+Premium/-Discount Premium or discount amount with which a bond has been purchased for the portfolio. Positive values are premiums, meaning the bond is more expensive than the current market. Negative values are discounts, meaning the bond is less expensive
Monthly amort Monthly amortization for the premium/discount amount with which the bond was purchased on the portfolio
Purchase type Method of issuing payment for the portfolio purchase (check or wire). Click the drop down arrow to select the purchase type


When you have finished entering the information, click Save to retain your changes.
