Overview of IL709

It may be necessary to change the financial information associated with a portfolio without performing all the steps that would otherwise be required. Adding to the accrued interest amount, for example, usually requires that you set up the portfolio with the proper accrual frequency and method then run the accrual program to update the amount. But Portfolio Financial Maintenance also allows you to change this amount manually if desired.

  • From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click Financial Services
  • Double-click Portfolio

Field Description
Account ID number of the master account for the selected portfolio record
Type Number and description of the type for the selected portfolio record
Status Current status of the selected portfolio record
Rate Interest rate of the selected portfolio record
Effective The rate earned after receiving a discount or paying a premium on commercial paper or corporate bonds as an investment changes hands. When your organization pays less or more principal to acquire a bond, you change the coupon rate paid. If a bond is earning a 5.75-percent rate of return and the market is trading at a lower rate, for example, your organization would have to pay a premium to bring the rate down. Your organization still earns 5.75 percent, but the premium paid makes the effective rate around 5 percent

Call date Date when a callable bond may be redeemed before its maturity date
