Overview of IL830MAIN
In order for your organization to be able to link a group of investments and loans to affect loan interest rates accordingly, you must first establish a new investment pool. Note that the investment pool will indicate the linked investments and loans known currently, but additions or deletions can always be made later.
Suppose, for example, that a certain church has a group of investments it wants to pool in support of a facilities-improvement loan. However, since the project is not scheduled to begin for six months, the church isn’t ready to apply for the loan yet. Your organization can add the loan information and/or additional investments to the pool as this becomes appropriate.
Adding a New Pool
- From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click Financial Services
- Double-click Pools
- Double-click Pool Maintenance. You will see this screen:
Click the Add button on the toolbar. The screen now enables the fields to begin adding the pool:
The following fields are available on this screen:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Pool | Enter the new pool number. You cannot use a number that already exists in the system. The list icon to the right of the Pool field allows you to view pools already set up within the system |
| Account | Enter the account number to be linked to the pool |
| Description | Enter a brief description of the pool |
When you have finished entering the information, click Save. You can now click Edit to continue adding information to the Investments and/or Loans tabs.
Investments tab
Click Edit, and then click the Investments tab. You will see this screen:
To add an investment to the pool, click the Add button on the toolbar. The screen now enables for data entry:
The following fields are available on this screen:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Inv Num | Enter the investment number that you are adding to the pool |
| Account | The account field will automatically populate when you TAB out of the Inv Num field, if the investment exists in the system |
When you have entered the investment number and verified that the Account field populated, click Save. The investment is now added to the pool:
You can now add additional investments to the pool.
Loans tab
When you click Edit and click the Loans tab, you will see this screen:
To add a loan to the pool, click the Add button on the toolbar. The screen now enables for data entry:
The following fields are available on this screen:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Loan num | Enter the loan number you are adding to the pool |
| Support percent | Enter the percentage of the pool amount supporting the balance of this loan |
When you have entered the information, click Save. The loan is now added to the investment pool:
You can now add additional loans if desired.
Editing an Existing Pool
To edit an existing pool, enter the pool number in the Pool field and click Find or click the list icon to display a list of pools in the system. This will display the pool:
Click the Edit button on the toolbar to activate the tabs and fields. When you have finished making your changes, click Save to retain them.
