Online CEF Fails to Launch Documents

We have had clients tell us that they are unable to open the offering circular or other documents in order to view them and agree to the terms. How can we fix that?

If your clients are using Internet Explorer 8, the issue is caused by a default security setting. To correct the issue, have them do the following:


  • Launch Internet Explorer
  • Click Tools and select Internet Options:

  • Click the Security tab:

  • Click Internet and then click Custom Level:

  • Scroll until you find the Downloads section. The item you are looking for reads "Automatic prompting for file downloads". Set that to "Enable":

Click OK, then click OK again. You may have to close your browser and open it back up, but this change will allow the files to launch on your Online CEF site.
