Merging Documents

Overview of Merging Print Requests (WP06PRINT)

When a report or other process requires the merging of documents, it is a two step process. The first is to run the report or process from the appropriate menu. The second step is to perform the merge. This document addresses the steps for merging those documents. To access the merge menu:

• From the DDI Connect main menu, double-click Merge Forms System
• Double-click Merge Print Requests. You will see a screen similar to this one:

To merge a batch, click the box to the left of the record:

In the lower right corner of the screen, there is a Render As option:

You have three choices:

Option	Description
Portable Document Format (pdf)	This generates the files in pdf format and displays them on your scree. THIS IS THE PREFERRED FORMAT for merging documents
Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (doc)	If you select this option, an additional field called Save location will enable: Click the folder icon to select the location to save the file. You will NOT be able to display the files if you select either Word option. The system does not allow you to rename the file, as the automatically assigned name is required for the system to properly generate the file(s) If there are more than one form codes in a batch, a word batch will be created for each form. For example, if you are merging Loan Receipts and you have a code for single page forms (LPR1) and one for two page receipts (LPR2), two merge batches will be created. The files are saved to the location you selected, and will have names such as mm3962179
Microsoft Word 2007/2010 XML (docx)	This will activate the Save location field, and has the same instructions as noted above

When you have selected the batch or batches that you wish to merge, click Merge. The system will prompt you with this message:

Click Start. This will launch the merge process. When your batch appears, you are able to print them.
