Is It Possible to Split Accounts?

We have a linked account that needs to be split into two separate accounts. Can we do that without having to recreate the information?

Yes, you can separate the accounts without having to recreate anything.

Go to Account Entry. Look up the account that you wish to separate. From the Account screen, click the name of the constituent that you wish to split from the account. Then, click the Constit button on the toolbar and select Remove Constituent. You will be prompted with this message:

Click Yes, then click Save to retain your changes. The account is no longer linked, but still exists as an individual account.
