Investment Beneficiaries Wish to Reinvest

We have received notification that an investor of ours is now deceased. The beneficiaries of the investor would like to have the monies from the existing investment(s) split equally and reinvested in investments under their own names. We have offered to honor the existing investment(s) interest rates and terms. How can we do this in the system?

There are multiple steps involved in this request.

  • First, determine if you have an investment category/type that has variable interest rates (i.e., not associated with tiers). You do not have the ability to modify the interest rate on tiered investments. If you do not have a variable category/type, you will want to create the new investment category. Within that category, create the new investment type. Set the current rate at 0 for the new type, to allow you to modify individual investments' interest rates within the type
  • Now, use the Investment Add process to set up a new investment for each beneficiary
  • The next step is to combine the existing investments into a single investment. This will make it easier for you to divide the amount equally amongst the beneficiaries. You will combine the existing investments using the Transfer and Payout process
  • Once you have combined all the investments, you are now ready to do the transfer and payout again. This time, you will transfer FROM the combined investment TO the newly added investments for each beneficiary. When you perform the transfer and payout, specify the principal balance to be transferred to each investment
