Mapping the Local Drive

To access the folders and files on your Mac, please follow these instructions:


  • If currently logged into your server, completely log off
  • Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 app for Mac
  • Click on the “Preferences” tab (gear)

  • Click on the General Tab (should open to it)

  • At the bottom under “If Folder redirection is enabled of RDP files or managed resources, redirect: Click the dropdown and select “Choose Folder’

  • Browse to the folder that you would like added and click "Open"
  • Click "Save"
  • Log in to the server and open File Explorer (the yellow folder icon)
  • On the left choose "This PC" and you should see your local Mac drive.
