Overview of CW04VIEW
When you either click View or double-click a check from the View/Print Checks screen, or click the Check button in any financial transaction that contains that option, the Check Viewer screen launches:
Status Tab
On the Status tab, you have the following options
Change Payee
If you click the Change Payee button on the toolbar, the system will launch the Change Payee screen:
On this screen, you can modify the information for the payee, if needed. Click Save to retain the changes and return to the Check View screen.
View Payee
If you click the View Payee button on this screen, the system will launch the Vendor information screen:
When you have finished viewing the information, click Exit to return to the Check View screen.
Check Memo
If you click the Edit Memo button:
You can add a memo to the check. Once you add the text, you can either Save or undo:
In addition to these options, the following information is displayed on the Status tab:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Status | This field displays the status of the check you are viewing. |
G/L date | Displays the GL date on the check transaction |
Date cleared | Displays the date that the check was marked as cleared |
Date posted | Displays the date that the actual transaction was posted to the General Ledger |
Date voided | If the check has been voided, displays the date that the void was applied |
Void Comment | If a comment regarding the void was added, displays that comment here |
Checking acct | Displays the checking account associated with this check |
Checking G/L | Displays the GL associated with the debit account. If you click the GL number, you will be taken to the GL Account View |
Credit G/L | Displays the GL associated with the credit account. If you click the GL number, you will be taken to the GL Account View |
Top Stub Tab
You see the following information on this tab:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Line number | This shows you the line number you are currently viewing, based on the detail below |
Description | Description of the line item |
Invoice # | If applicable, the invoice # |
Invoice date | If applicable, the invoice date |
G/L account | The GL account associated with this line item |
In addition to these fields, you have additional buttons on this screen.
Edit Lines button
If you click the Edit Lines button, the Check Stub Editor will launch:
To edit a field, double-click it. The cursor will become active, and you can update the information. Click Save when you are finished editing.
View Source button
If you click the View Source button, it will launch the appropriate transaction screen for the module that generated the check. For example, if you are viewing an Accounts Payable check, it might launch the Voucher detail. If you are viewing an investment interest check, it will launch the Transaction Detail screen.
When you have finished viewing the source information, click Exit to return to the Check Detail screen.
Bottom Stub tab
When you click the Bottom Stub tab, you will see a screen similar to this one:
You do not have any editing options on this tab.
When you have finished viewing the check information, click Exit to return to the View/Print Checks screen.
