Job Processing Date Parameters

The date parameters for job processing are key to a successful processing run. If the dates are incorrect, they could cause job processing to fail or a report to not run properly. When you click on the calendar icon in the report parameters of any report, you will see this screen:

DDI recommends that you avoid using the Fixed Date option, as it limits the flexibility of your reporting.

At the bottom of the date parameters screen, you will see radio buttons for "first" and "last":

The options in your Date list will change depending on your selection of either first or last.

When First is Selected

The system will default to current, to indicate the current month. You can click the < and > arrows to modify this setting. You can select Next, 2nd next, etc. In most cases, you will leave this selection as Current:

In addition to the days of the week and fixed date, you have the following options when "First" is selected:

Selection	Description
Process date	Indicates that the report will use the current process date setting when determining the next date to run the report
Business date	Indicates that the report will use the current business date setting when determining the next date to run the report
First calendar day of month	The system will run the report on the first calendar day of each month
First calendar day of quarter	The system will run the report on the first calendar day of each quarter
First calendar day of semi-yr	The system will run the report on the first calendar day of each semi year (every 6 months)
First calendar day of year	The system will run the report on the first calendar day of each quarter
Work Day	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "WD" on the job processing calendar
First day of week	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "WB" on the job processing calendar
First day of month	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "MB" on the job processing calendar
First day of quarter	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "QB" on the job processing calendar
First day of semi-year	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "SB" on the job processing calendar
First day of year	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "YB" on the job processing calendar
First day in acct. period	Example
First day in acct. pd. by year	Example

The "First calendar day of..." setting uses the process date to determine the first date. The "First day of..." looks for specific entries on the job processing calendar based on the business date.

When Last is Selected

Selection	Description
Process date	Indicates that the report will use the current process date setting when determining the next date to run the report
Business date	Indicates that the report will use the current business date setting when determining the next date to run the report
Last calendar day of month	The system will run the report on the last calendar day of each month
Last calendar day of quarter	The system will run the report on the last calendar day of each quarter
Last calendar day of semi-yr	The system will run the report on the last calendar day of each semi year (every 6 months)
Last calendar day of year	The system will run the report on the last calendar day of each quarter
Work Day	The system will run the report on the last date identified as "WD" on the job processing calendar
Last day of week	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "WE" on the job processing calendar
Last day of month	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "ME" on the job processing calendar
Last day of quarter	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "QE" on the job processing calendar
Last day of semi-year	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "SE" on the job processing calendar
Last day of year	The system will run the report on the next date identified as "YE" on the job processing calendar

In addition to first and last, there are 5 other fields available to you on this screen:
