When you add a new type of investment, you have to register in the states that you are authorized to sell those investments in.

Once you have added the new type, you can register it. For information on how to add a new investment type, reference this page: Investment Type and Rate Maintenance

There are two ways to do the state registration:

Authorized to Sell in All States

If you are authorized to sell this investment type in all states, you can use the Auto registration process. Once you have set up the investment type, you will click the Auto icon on the toolbar:

When you click the Auto button, this popup will appear:

Click the "All" checkbox to select all states, and click OK. You will see this popup:

Click OK. The investment type is now registered in all states. You can verify this by going to State Sales Maintenance and locating the category that the new investment is part of. If you click the category, you'll see the type(s) to the right:

Only Authorized to Sell in Certain States

If you are only authorized to sell this investment type in particular states, you will have to manually register in those states. To do so:


From the Type and Rate Maintenance, click the St Reg icon on the toolbar:

When you click the icon, the State Sales Maintenance screen will launch:
