Overview of PF520UPD

The Health Plan Assistance Maintenance, accessed from the Actions menu of a health plan policy, allows you to enter a health plan assistance payment for the member. This assistance may be against the policy with Health Plan Benefit Trust or some other third-party insurer.


When you launch the HP Assistance screen, you will see this:

To add a new assistance record, click the New button on the toolbar. The fields will activate for data entry:

The following fields are available on this screen:


Field Description
Member ID This is a display only field that shows the owner of the policy for which health plan assistance will be given
Current status Whenever a change is made to this health plan assistance, the status code and date are reflected in this field. Set to requested when a user adds new health plan assistance
Current approval level The current approval level is reflected in this field
Method This control allows you to select the method by which the health plan assistance amount will be determined. Click the drop down arrow to select the method. The options are as follows:
Option Description
Monthly Amount Indicates that you will enter a set monthly amount and this is always what should be paid. Any changes to the amount will be handled manually
Base Amount Indicates that the amount provided should stay at the base amount set in the system. As the system setting changes, the amount for all HP assistance set to this option will also change
Set percentage of premiums Indicates that a set percentage of the premiums will be paid. If premiums increase or decrease, the corresponding gift amount will also change
New church minister plan This option pays 100 percent of the premiums for the first year, 66 percent for the second year, 33 percent for the third year, and none thereafter

Next payment date The next date when the supplemental gift will be paid out. You can type the date in mm/ddy/yyyy format or click the calendar icon to select the date
PF HP Policy # If the assistance is paid toward a health plan policy that is held with Health Plan Benefit Trust, then you can enter/select the policy number here
